Concert tour of the S zolnok
S ymphonist Orchestra in Japan

In 2009 concernedly to the Hungarian-Japanese

memorial year the Szolnok Symphonist Orchestra,

The Bartók Béla Chamber Choir and Andrea

Rost took part in common concert tour in Japan.

During 9 days the orchestra showed 5 different

programs in 4 towns for the worthy Japanese

audience. Following the last year’s successful

tour the orchestra was desired again in Japan in

September this year. The inviting partner (IFAC)

listened to the orchestra and they decided that

they would co-operate with the Szolnok Symphonist

Orchestra. It is an enormous accolade for

the musicians and Szolnok town and of course for

Izaki Maszhiro musical director. In the focus of

the more than fortnight’s tour is Verdi’s Nabucco

opera but of course the improvement of the Japanese-

Hungarian relationship will not be failed

either. The orchestra also will have an own

concert in Yuza in the sister town of Szolnok.

On 13th September in 2010 the symphonist

orchestra will leave for Japan again with around

sixty persons.
